Q&A: Devon Welsh Invites Listeners to be Their Own Action Hero
Montreal musician Devon Welsh has released his highly anticipated album Come With Me If You Want To Live, a menacing album title that shows the songwriter putting up a fight and not backing down in his artistic endeavours. Released via American Dreams, the former member of defunct band Majical Cloudz steps into the experimental pop terrain with luscious synth hooks and a reverberating sincerity.
SEBii Continues to Build His Multifaceted Universe on New Full-Length Album VVSS2
New York-based, Shanghai-raised artist SEBii is sharing his latest evolution of his hyperpop/rap sound on his sophomore album VVSS2 and with it he continues to expand the lore that surrounds his project. With origins stemming from online, SEBii’s project has started taking on a tangible life of its own, immersing himself in the real world with live sets in LA for the iconic Boiler Room x Subculture party and more. He’s also gained recognition from pioneers in the industry, collaborating with the likes of Ashnikko, Travis Barker, and Umru - in addition to praise from Anthony Fantano and Playboi Carti.
We sat down with SEBii to talk about where it all began and how his universe continues to take shape.
Q&A: It’s Written in the Stars for Vancouver’s La Lune
Vancouver based indie/rockers La Lune are new on the scene, blending shoegaze with nostalgic emo sensibilities. We first discovered the band after stumbling across their high-energy live performance video at Green Auto. The video is drenched in their signature greyscale aesthetic, taking us back to the found footage era of the 90’s when live concerts were filmed on a DV cam.
