Canada’s best-kept indie rock secret, Pony Girl releases their third single, “Highways.” In their own words, the art-pop band explains that"Highways are the shape of our hearts and minds as we’re falling in love, expanding roads of connection that stretch out through time. New feelings are so pure and fragile—the song swerves as you get lost, then the backbeat guides you home. The journey’s never a straight line."

Veering away and expanding from their debut album, “Enny One Will Love You”, their forthcoming album, “Laff It Would”, urges listeners to let go. From themes of stage fright to sex work, Pascal Huot and Yolande Laroche craft a world of personas with honey-rich voices and a moving desire to persevere. Pony Girl is a kaleidoscope of pop unlike any other, turning everyday life into mesmerizing melodies, rock, and electronic production.

With the recent release of the record’s first two singles, “I Believe In Nothing” and “Laff It Off”, “Highways” is the third single from the forthcoming release. Exploring the fragility of new love, “Highways” strongly reminds me of a short, yet loving relationship with someone in your past. A dreamy, yet romantic track that is sure to make you think of someone you miss. Accompanying this single is a music video featuring animation by Stephanie Kuse.
