Toronto’s Breeze Announces New Album Sour Grapes: Hear “You’ve Decided”
Indie/rock band Breeze may be up-and-coming, but bandleader Josh Korody has been beloved in the Toronto music scene for quite some time due to his influential work in Beliefs and Nailbiter. Today, Breeze has announced their return with a forthcoming album called Sour Grapes which will arrive on October 6 via Hand Drawn Dracula.
Breeze shared a taste of the release today with an infectious lead single called “You’ve Decided”. Korody writes; "’You’ve Decided’ is about when a person is so self involved that when it comes to large decisions/issues they can’t see logic or obvious truth clearly. And sometimes that one decision can really create a boundary and alienate themselves. When it gets to the point where you think everyone is wrong is but you, that’s usually when you really need to look outside of yourself.”
In addition to Korody’s own projects, he is a mainstay producer in Toronto working with Dilly Dally, Weaves, Tess Parks, Fucked Up, Tallies, Fake Palms, and more. What originally started as a solo project of Korody’s, Breeze has since evolved into a full band following their debut performance for a KEXP Live At Home Session. Breeze’s 90s new-wave-meets-Britpop-inspired track “You’ve Decided” was recorded solo by Korody at his Candle Recording studio, like many of the songs on Sour Grapes. The album was was mastered by Mark Gardiner of RIDE, and promises an exciting direction for the anticipated full-length LP and full band follow-up to Only Up.
Breeze will also be playing live in Montreal, Quebec at Turbo Haüs on July 7, followed by a Toronto show at the Monarch on July 29. Pre-order Sour Grapes here.
