We are taking a brief intermission from our Bob Sledding coverage to bring you this week's essential new music.

At the intersection of raw emotion and polished production lies Edmonton, AB’s Tebby and the Heavy's latest offering, "I Never." The track opens with a dreamy oscillating guitar line, where every element serves the song's emotional core. The vocals cut through, bringing their psychedelic sound to the surface that blends seamlessly with their shoegaze touch. Catch this atmospheric piece live when they perform at Bob Sled in Calgary, AB this Saturday, sharing the stage with Witch Victim, Hotline TNT, and more. For tickets, visit here, and check out Tebby and the Heavy’s new song down below, in addition to a few other weekly favourites.

Next up, we have Montreal musical janglers, Prism Shores, who are captivating listeners with their sophomore album Out From Underneath. The production shimmers with crystalline clarity, each synth layer and guitar line precisely placed in the stereoscopic field. There is a sense of depth, especially on tracks like “Overplayed My Hand” and “Holding Pattern”, that pulls listeners into an aqueous dreamscape, where reverb-drenched melodies shine. The album chronicles young adult displacement and urban adaptation, perfectly capturing the zeitgeist of generational transition. It’s the perfect album to lead us into the unknowns of what the year holds for us.

FKA Twigs pushes artistic boundaries and characteristic innovation on her highly anticipated EUSEXUA, featuring collaborations with glitch producer Koreless and North West (yes…you read that right). Her complex arrangements demonstrate masterful control of space and tension, with vocals that shift from ethereal whispers to powerful declarations. The mood is hypnotic and slightly unsettling, like stepping into an alternate dimension. In the recent music video for “Striptease”, FKA Twigs evolves as a pop visionary, combining intricate choreography with gritty underground tunnel aesthetics. It’s reminiscent of her recent collaboration with Imogen Heap, where they experimented with Imogen’s Miu Miu gloves.

Continuing on with the weekend party anthems, Shygirl assembles an all-star lineup with PinkPantheress, and Montreal-based Honduran artist Isabella Lovestory for “True Religion”. Producers Nick León, Oscar Scheller, and Shygirl craft pristine club sonics, while Isabella Lovestory's signature reggaeton rhythms merge seamlessly with Shygirl's experimental hyperpop textures. The mood is pure adrenaline, capturing the electric atmosphere of a peak-time dance floor moment. “True Religion” will feature on Club Shy Room 2 EP, releasing February 28th via Because Music.

Find these releases plus new tracks from Motherhood, Sumac, Glixen, Sister Ray, Jo Passed, and more on our Sounds of Reverie playlist.
